Falakro Drama - Paggeo (Pangeo)
Falakro is the northern ski center of Greece. It is situated in the homonym mountain, a trademark of Drama. As its name reveals (falakro means bold), this mountain has no vegetation, something that makes it unique. The ski center is 46 km from Drama and has a 600 sq. km of natural runs. The view from up there is magnificent. You can see down to Nestos, Thasos, Olympus and Athos.
Falakro ski center has all the modern infrastructures and it is considered one of the best centers in Greece. In Drama and the whole prefecture of East Macedonia and Thrace, Falakro has best utilized the natural tourist pores of Drama.
It has 4 trailing lifts, one four-seated funicular railway, one two-seated funicular railway and a baby lift. The ski center has over 22km length and 20 runs. Falakro is situated in a very good position and has a lot of snow from December to April.
The center has different level runs with hypsometric differences. It also has runs for road strengthen, hiking and mountaineering (E6).
The ski center provides a chalet to the guests. Two of these chalets are on the foothills, while the third is at a 2110m height, at the finish line with breathtaking view. From up there you can see Bulgaria and its villages, the west ends of West Rodopi, the Aegean sea, Thassos island, Olympus mountain, the valley of Drama and the magnificent canyon of Pirgi.
One if the chalets has a restaurant and can host up to 80 persons. In Falakro you will also find shops to rent and buy skiing equipment, a ski and snowboard school, as and a parking space.
